Cleo T. composes dream-like melodies of wild romanticism, inspired by film noir and symbolist poetry. Her sensual and haunting songwriting is carried by a deep emotional voice and a romantic instrumentarium resounding magic pianos, powerful cellos and atmospheric guitars. Her work could be described as a sound and visual poetry experience, with multimedia live shows conceived as imaginary travels.

She is currently working on her third album entitled How Do You Find Your Way in the Dark?. The album will be accompanied by an experimental movie, following the narrative story of the record. The show will include the music, the video and the poetry material in a cinematic performance.

PROJECT

@Clothilde Bertin Lalande

Darkness and dawn.
To stay and to depart. Motionless journey, the show is conceived as a storyboard that scrolls to the sound of magical pianos and cello ensembles. Resonances of the world, field recordings, birdsong and summer rain; the song spread in echo chambers. How Do You Find Your Way in the Dark? is a dive into the dreamlike and intimate music of Cleo T., written as an ultra-sensitive poetic sound piece.

If the title evokes the last line of Marylin in John Huston's masterpiece, the universe of Cleo T. is inspired by a singular cut up: memories of Chopin and romantic lieder, fragments of surrealist writings and pictures of travels to distant lands. The album is a narrative poem, we meet trees, the ocean, the bird, the forest. The minimal instrumentarium of piano, cello and guitar accompanies the singer's ethereal and deep voice, with delicate lyricism and spectral choirs.

With this new performance, Cleo T. continues her artistic exploration, mixing music, image and literature. The recording will be accompanied by an experimental film whose contemplative and organic sequences will serve as visual backdrops for the concert.

EXTRACTS

You are the wind

You are the trees

You are the ocean

You are the shadow

You are forever

You are the hereafter
You are the poem

You are not here

You are like flowers

You are wild

You are wild

Be wild at heart !
